At The Palmer House Stable you will see that our 10 years of combined experience with over 354 weddings sets us apart from the rest of the venues in Eastern Iowa.
We will never be an over-grown company with inexperienced staff but instead remain a “boutique” & quality-over-quantity-focused venue with our attention to your vision.
Our capacity is 170 with an additional 150 outside with a high peak rented 30’ x 60’ tent.
Total max capacity 320 (additional fees may apply).
We are seeing smaller more intimate weddings and receptions at the Stable, (150 and less) and our venue is sized just right. This trend towards smaller weddings is because more people want to share their wedding day with their family and close friends and at the same time have a wedding experience everyone will remember.

The Hay Loft has a 2-story master bedroom, 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 8 guests. The Hay Loft is exclusively available to our wedding couples, their family and guests that have an event at our Palmer House Stable.

Less than a block away from The Palmer House Stable sits the recently revived Literary Hotel. With 11 guest rooms and unique industrial design, your loved ones will be comfortable and rested when they stay at The Literary Hotel.
